Data Description:
The PPI, is based on the results of informal opinion surveys obtained from mining professionals, and conducted by the Fraser Institute since 1997. It aims to assess the perceptions of mining company executives about public policies that may affect mining development in certain jurisdictions. Different jurisdictions are then ranked according to their investment attractiveness. The index provides scores out of a hundred for countries and states, 100 being attributed to the policy perceived as most business friendly. It covers only 91 jurisdictions in 55 countries, but most mining jurisdictions are covered.
